Saudi Arabia’s population reaches 32.5 mln in 2017

The total population in Saudi Arabia rose by 810,000 year-on-year (YoY) to 32.55 million people in 2017, according to the Saudi General Authority for Statistics.

 

Saudi nationals make up 20.4 million, or 63 percent of the total population.

 

The number of non-Saudi residents stood at 12.14 million, or about 37 percent of the population.

 

In terms of regions, Makkah is the most populated area in the Kingdom with 8.6 million people, followed by Riyadh with 8.2 million and the Eastern Province with 4.9 million people.

 

As for the age range, 40 percent of the population is between the ages of 25-44 years old.
