Contractor responsible for King Saud City building collapse: report

A building at King Saud Medical City (Shemaisi) has suffered partial collapse, as the contractor mandated for a development project in the city breached some terms under the contract, Al-Watan daily reported on Wednesday, citing unnamed sources with knowledge of the matter.

Among those breaches, the contractor suspended demolition works at peak hours.

Meanwhile, a team of investigators was dispatched to assist the competent authorities in the probe. 

The city will witness other demolitions gradually going forward, the sources added.

Two construction workers were killed, with other two injured after the partial collapse of a building in the city, Argaam reported.
