Saudi banks’ treasury bond holdings rose in December

Saudi banks’ investments in treasury bonds increased by nearly SAR 3.7 billion month-on-month to approximately SAR 254.4 billion in December, new data from the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA) showed.

 

Banks’ treasury bond holdings rose by nearly SAR 76 billion during 2017.

 

Meanwhile, SAMA’s foreign assets fell SAR 7.8 billion in December to SAR 1.9 trillion.
