Saudi Arabia’s Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC) has made it into the Guinness World Records as the world’s largest water desalination company with a daily production capacity of 5 million cubic meters.
SWCC also owns the world’s largest desalination plant in Ras Al Khair, which has a daily production capacity of just over 1 million cubic meters.
The Kingdom plans to build nine water desalination plants on the Red Sea coast at a total cost of more than SAR 2 billion, according to Abdulrahman Alfadley, Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture.
The plants will have a total production capacity of 240,000 cubic meters of water per day and will be ready in less than 18 months.
