Saudi POS transactions rise 32% in January 2019

Point-of-sale (POS) transactions in Saudi Arabia jumped 32 percent year-on-year (YoY) to SAR 21.66 billion in January 2019, figures from the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA) show.

 

Data showed that 107.4 million transactions were processed through nearly 353,900 points-of-sales in shopping malls, retail stores, and pharmacies.

Cash withdrawals grew by 2 percent YoY to SAR 63.2 billion through 182.2 million transactions processed across 18,700 ATMs in January.
