Prices of Saudi commodities rise in June 2019

Prices of 86 goods and services in Saudi Arabia rose year-on-year (YoY) in June 2019, while prices of 74 commodities dropped, official data issued by the Saudi General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) showed.

 

Out of the total 91 food products, prices of 46 items increased YoY for the month, while prices of other 43 products decreased.

 

Prices of American cardamom jumped the highest by 23 percent YoY, while local figs saw the biggest drop at 11 percent YoY.

 

As for non-food commodities, the prices of seven items rose in June, with the local paper tissues firm, Fine, recording the biggest rise at 4.35 percent YoY.

 

The prices of seven out of 12 services were up last month compared to June 2018.

 

Prices of four fodder and livestock products increased in June.

 

Meanwhile, prices of 22 construction materials increased for the month, while 16 materials fell. Prices for the 12 mm-rebar rose 7.1 percent YoY.
