Inflation in Saudi Arabia up 0.2% in December 2019

Saudi Arabia’s inflation stood at 0.2% in December 2019, bucking an 11-month negative trend, according to recent data by the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT).

The consumer price index for December rose to 106.5 points compared to 106.2 points the year before.

Prices of 9 main groups in the CPI basket increased in December. Restaurants and hotels as well as miscellaneous goods and services saw the biggest increase of 2.6%. Education followed, going up 2.3%.
