Saudi Arabia is expected to issue a decision soon on maintaining energy prices for the industrial sector until 2030, Bandar Alkhorayef, Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, said in an interview with Rotana Khalijiah Fealsora TV show.
The decision is under study by the energy prices governance committee, chaired Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman.
“Energy price cuts are unlikely. Studies are ongoing to maintain those prices or raise them in line with global prices,” Alkhorayef added.
On the other hand, the ministry is also mulling energy prices for the steel segment, Alkhorayef noted, adding that lowering energy prices will have no major impact on the industry.
