Sahara International Petrochemical Company (Sipchem) will immediately carry out the regular maintenance turnaround at the PDH unit owned by its affiliate, Al-Waha Petrochemical Co. (Al Waha), the petrochemicals producer said in a bourse statement on Sunday.
The move aims to avoid the need to shut down the plant again on April 1, 2020.
The company said it targets to complete all maintenance activities before March-end to allow the plant to commence operations and achieve its future operational plans, the statement added.
The relevant financial impact will appear on financial statements for Q1 2020, and will be determined in line with the actual maintenance period, and average prices of products at the time.
On March 3, Sipchem said it will shut down the propane dehydrogenation (PDH) unit of Al-Waha for unplanned turnaround maintenance.
