Remittances from expatriates in Saudi Arabia fell by 9% year-on-year (YoY) to SAR 9.79 billion in April 2020 when compared to the same period last year, according to recent data released by the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA).
On a monthly basis, expat remittances declined 20%, or SAR 2.43 billion, by the end of April.

In addition, remittances sent by Saudi nationals to other countries fell 42% YoY to SAR 2.95 billion in April, recording its lowest level in 13 years, since January 2007, when it reached SAR 2.57 billion.
