The Royal Commission for Al-Ula (RCU) said that the second phase of development of Al-Ula airport was complete in cooperation with the General Authority for Civil Aviation (GACA).
The second phase of the airport development included the renovation of the main terminal and the expansion of the aircraft ramp to accommodate for larger aircrafts and increase the airport's capacity to 400,000 passengers annually instead of 100,000.
Moreover, a VIP lounge will be set up along with a set of other developments to improve traveler experience.
In March, Amr Al Madani, RCU’s CEO said that the commission completed the development of the first phase of the tourist infrastructure of the province through the expansion of Al-Ula Airport to accommodate for 400,000 passengers per annum with the new runway accommodating for about 15 aircrafts.
