The unemployment rate among Saudis dropped to 11.8% in Q1 2020, compared to end of 2019, according to data from the Saudi General Authority for Statistics.
In addition, unemployment rate among males and females stood at 5.6% and 28.2%, respectively in the same period.
Meanwhile, unemployment among all residents remained unchanged at 5.7%.

The total number of employed individuals across the Kingdom hit 13.64 million in Q1 2020. Males accounted for 82%, or 11.16 million of total labor force, while females represented 18%, or 2.48 million.
Meanwhile, employed expats accounted for nearly 10.43 million, representing 76.5% of the total employees, while nationals accounted for 23.5%, or 3.2 million.
A total of 8.70 million workers, or 64% of total labor force are subject to the regulations of the General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI), while 9.4% are subject to the rules of the Civil Service. Meanwhile, 26.8% of total labor force represents domestic workers.
