Jarir CEO says e-sales hit record highs during COVID-19, eyes 70 showrooms by 2021

Jarir Marketing Co.’s chief executive officer, Abdulkarim Al Agil, said that electronic sales reached an unprecedented level during the COVID-19 outbreak in a record time.

He further said that Jarir’s team managed to adapt to the situation despite the conditions, as new shipping channels and centers were opened that made it possible to serve customers distinctively.

Al Agil also highlighted that the company retained all its employees during the crisis, including non-Saudis, who had been unable to return to the Kingdom until now.

According to the company's 2019 sustainability report, its strategy and plans include a number of objectives as follows:

- Increasing showrooms to more than 70 in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf countries by 2021 and enhance organizational capacity accordingly.

- Achieving a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 10% through new stores and rise in profits of equity categories.

- Developing e-commerce capabilities to enable growth at the domestic and international levels.

- Development and utilization of an online presence through social media and digital marketing to enhance customer participation.

- Increase lifetime customer value with customer-centric strategy and data-driven capabilities.

- Provide more personalized products, services and experiences for customers.
