Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Saudi Arabia's Minister of Energy, said that the year 2020 was full of challenges, as the world worked on combating the COVID-19 outbreak.

Several decisions have been taken to reshape the world in the long term, particularly in the energy sector, Prince Abdulaziz added in a speech during the 11th Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM11) meeting.

The event explores various ways to ensure affordable, reliable and sustainable energy for all, while promoting global economic growth, Prince Abdulaziz explained.

Moreover, Saudi Arabia, during its presidency of the G20, advanced the Circular Carbon Economy (CCE) as a framework to accelerate transitions to cleaner and more sustainable energy solutions.

He also highlighted the Saudi government’s efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, through setting up a research center to benefit from carbon capture.
