Mouwasat Medical Services Co. announced that construction works are continuing on the expansion project of Mouwasat Hospital in Dammam, and the new Mouwasat Hospital in Madinah, which are carried out by Project Build Co. Ltd. (PBC).

In two separate bourse filings, the company said that trial operations of its project in Dammam and Madinah are likely to start by Q1 2021-end and Q2 2021, respectively.

The completion rate in the Dammam and Madinah projects reached 88% and 85%, respectively.

Mouwasat attributed the delay in Dammam project to a delay in the supply of some construction, electrical and mechanical supplies and materials, resulting in rescheduling the workflow at the site.

The Madinah project's delay was due to the COVID-19 pandemic impacting the project timelines as work restrictions during lockdowns limited access to the site.

There has been no change in both projects' associated costs due to the delay, the company said.

In December 2017, Mouwasat signed a construction contract worth SAR 205 million with PBC to build its new branch in Madinah.

In September 2017, the company signed a contract with PBC, at a value of SAR 150 million, to expand the Mouwasat Hospital in Dammam.
