Saudi Arabia’s Electricity & Cogeneration Regulatory Authority (ECRA) set five conditions for connecting houses and enterprises with the small-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) systems.
The authority stated, on its official Twitter account, that the conditions include the beneficiary should be the consumer or the enterprise’s owner, with capacity ranging between two megawatts and one kilowatt.
ECRA also stipulated that the connection with the solar PV system should be safe and the combined capacity should not exceed five megawatts in different enterprises for the owner in an area belonging to one electricity department.
Last week, the Ministry of Energy announced that small-scale solar PV systems are ready to produce electricity for consumers’ houses and enterprises, connected later to the Kingdom’s grid, according to data compiled by Argaam.
