Saudi Arabia says 500,000 e-employment contracts authenticated since October 2020

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (HRSD) authenticated 500,000 electronic employment contracts since October 2020, Al Eqtisadiah newspaper reported, citing Sattam Alharbi, Deputy Minister of Inspection and Development of Work Environment.

Alharbi indicated that 1.2 million employment contracts were authenticated in two years via the previous authentication procedure, which required employers to upload all their employee contracts to a portal and then have them verified by employees.

“Contracts now can be authenticated in minutes via the electronic verification service,” he noted, adding that employers can either continue using the old procedure or convert into e-authentication for contracts.

“Using electronic validation cancels all previous employment contracts,” he indicated during a workshop for contract documentation program through Madad platform, organized by Riyadh Chamber of Commerce.
