UK-based Kingfisher plc, an international home improvement retailer, signed a franchise agreement with the UAE-based Al-Futtaim Group to open B&Q stores in Saudi Arabia, as part of its expansion plan for the B&Q brand in the Middle East, the firm said in a statement on March 9, 2021.

The first two stores are expected to launch in Saudi Arabia in autumn 2021, supported by an e-commerce proposition.

The first B&Q stores in Saudi Arabia will span approximately 50,000 square feet, the statement added.

The stores will stock a full range of home improvement products, and will include Kingfisher’s portfolio of own exclusive brands, such as Erbauer, Magnusson and GoodHome, alongside locally and internationally sourced product ranges.

The stores and support office functions will be fully operated and staffed by Al-Futtaim Group, the firm said.
