Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Health announced that there will be more vaccine appointments of the first COVID-19 dose for those who did not get the vaccine.

It also delayed the second dose appointments and will reschedule them to provide a larger category of people with the first dose, the state-run SPA reported.

All the second dose vaccine appointments will be delayed as of tomorrow, April 11, 2021. The Ministry will announce later the date of resuming the administration of the second dose.

The decision came due to the shortage of the global vaccine supply due to the challenges faced by manufacturers. In addition, the Kingdom aims to provide the vaccine first dose to a larger number of people, especially high-risk groups.

The ministry also urged all citizens and residents to register for the vaccine via “Sehhaty” application.
