Electrical Industries signs SAR 22.7 mln deal to buy assets of CG Power Belgium

Electrical Industries Co. (EIC) signed on April 15, 2021, an agreement to purchase the assets of CG Power Belgium (under liquidation) with the liquidator for a total of EUR 5.04 million (SAR 22.7 million).

The company said in a statement to Tadawul that the assets include machinery, equipment, inventory, software for designing transformers and mobile substation, know-how and technical design.

The deal will be funded from the company's own resources and from the available facilities with banks.

The financial impact is expected to reflect on the company's results during 2022.

EIC is in the final process of establishing PAUWELS Transformers Co. in Belgium and the assets purchased will be transferred to the new firm to start operating the transformers factory in Belgium.

There are no related parties to the agreement, the statement said.

According to data compiled by Argaam, in August 2020, EIC’s board of directors approved to begin negotiations with the liquidator in Belgium to conclude the purchase agreement for the assets of CG Power Belgium.
