Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) confirmed that the passengers boarding flights in the Kingdom must have the coronavirus (“Tawakkalna”) app on their mobile phones.
In a circular sent to national airlines, the authority stated that it is working with the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority and the related entities to ensure that passenger data is linked to the app.
It added that boarding passes must only be issued to passengers whose health status, as recorded by the Tawakkalna app, is “immune” or “not been confirmed with infection.”
The move is part of the precautionary and preventive measures to combat COVID-19 in the airports and related facilities.
