Supreme directives were issued to charge the Saudi Space Commission with the responsibility of implementing the terms of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation for the peaceful use of outer space between Saudi Arabia's King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) and Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper reported.

In December 2020, Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, chairman of the Saudi Space Commission, said he would soon unveil a system of preparatory partnerships to complete the comprehensive vision on the initiative of "the Kingdom's return to its space-level leadership", to be submitted to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman for approval, Argaam earlier reported.
