Saudi Arabia records 1,016 COVID-19 cases on Wednesday

Saudi Arabia recorded 1,016 COVID-19 cases today, May 5, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 422,316, the Ministry of Health stated.

Recoveries reached 900, raising the total number of recovered cases to 405,607 (96% of total COVID-19 cases).

Active cases totaled 9,691, of which 1,346 cases are critical.

The Kingdom reported 12 new deaths, with the death toll standing at 7,018.

Riyadh reported the highest number of COVID-19 cases at 373, followed by Makkah (279), Eastern Province (125), Madinah (52) and Asir (44).

Saudi Arabia concluded 72,118 new tests, bringing the total number of laboratory tests to 17.24 million.

Almost 9.88 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in the Kingdom to date.
