The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) issued a new circular for all airlines operating in the Kingdom – both state-owned and private - with respect to procedures of citizens travelling aboard.
The circular stated that airlines will allow citizens to travel on international flights, on condition that they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, with the exception of those aged below 12 years, provided that they obtain an insurance certificate from Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) that cover the risk of infection outside the Kingdom.
Also, those who are recovering from the virus but has not completed six months since being infected, and those who were infected with the virus and received one dose of any of the vaccines approved in the Kingdom, will be allowed.
GACA also confirmed that these new procedures will be effective as of Aug. 9.
