Demand for electricity is constantly increasing in Saudi Arabia, especially amid the growing population of around 34 million, Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper reported, citing Minister of Energy Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman.

“Demand for the Kingdom’s electricity is forecast to grow by more than 30% to 120 gigawatts (GW) in the current decade,” the minister said during the opening ceremony of Siemens Energy’s first integrated energy center in Dammam.

He also stressed the importance of the energy sector localization, pointing to the Kingdom’s efforts to fully empower the energy industry.
