Saudi Arabia managed to overcome the COVID-19 outbreak and limit its spread, thanks to the community’s awareness and compliance with the precautionary measures, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported, citing Ministry of Health Spokesperson Muhammad Al-Abdulaali.

It also helped increasing the number of vaccinated people across the Kingdom, he added.

“This significantly contributed to lowering the number of COVID-19 cases and raising the number of recoveries. The number of COVID-19 cases in the Kingdom’s public as well as private hospitals dropped remarkably, as they received the proper medical care,” Al-Abdulaali said.

The Ministry of Health is monitoring the pandemic and is ready to deal with any developments, Al-Abdulaali said, adding that it is constantly implementing the precautionary measures in coordination with the other competent authorities.

Al-Abdulaali called on to preserve the gains acquired across the Kingdom during the pandemic. He also stressed the importance of wearing masks in closed areas and receiving the full two-dose course of a vaccine to overcome the COVID-19 virus variants.
