The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (HRSD) started activating the updated social security system, issued under Royal Decree (M/32) to ensure household stability and take the necessary measures for providing the appropriate support for the households most in need, SPA reported.
The updated system seeks to achieve the social protection goals, including monetary support, as well as the training and qualification services. It will also help achieve the empowerment and employment services, improve workforce and enhance the skills of recipient categories to raise the quality of their social and economic life.
The new system will support the categories most in need, in line with Vision 2030 objectives. It was designed according to the best international practices of similar programs in other countries, the social and economic aspects and future development opportunities. The updated system will contribute to realizing the Vision 2030 main pillars; a vibrant society, a thriving economy and an ambitious nation.
The HRSD Ministry modified the social security portal to go in tandem with the updated system. Beneficiaries were urged to register in the program starting Nov. 20. The old portal will stay online until May 23, 2022.
The ministry will also study the maturity basis for new applicants in December 2021. The first pension will be credited to beneficiaries’ accounts in January 2022.
