Turki Al-Sheikh, Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority (GEA), announced that the ongoing Riyadh Season 2021 attracted over 4.5 million visitors in a month.
This included 3.6 million persons from Riyadh, 620,000 visitors from regions across the Kingdom, 163,000 visitors from the GCC countries and more than 145,000 from other global countries.
The festival that began on Oct. 20 created more than 122,000 job opportunities, including 37,000 direct jobs and 85,000 indirect jobs. More than 40,000 tourist visas were issued from nearly 104 countries during the festival, with Britain accounting for approximately 9,240 visitors, US nearly 9,050 visitors and France 3,350 visitors.
Riyadh Season 2021 includes 7,500 days of events, including 70 Arab concerts, six international concerts, 10 international exhibitions, 350 theatrical performances and 18 Arab plays as well as six international plays. Among other events hosted by Riyadh Season 2021 are a free wrestling championship, two international matches and 100 interactive experiences. Riyadh’s second season also includes 200 restaurants and 70 cafes, Argaam reported.
