Saudi Ministry of Health spokesperson, Dr. Muhammad Al-Abdulaali, said that a single vaccine dose is insufficient, a second shot enhances immunization, while a booster is the most important today to protect people from complications and new variants.

A booster strengthens personal immunity levels, Al-Abdulaali said in a tweet, noting that the second vaccine dose enhances immunization, being sufficient for resisting the pandemic and its variants.

Moreover, antibody levels begin to wane after six months. Therefore, a booster is necessary, Al-Abdulaali concluded.
