Saudi transport ministry continues with localization policies, fully repays private sector dues: Al-Jasser

Saudi Minister of Transport and Logistics, Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, said that the ministry is continuing with its localization policies through localizing 45,000 jobs in the transport and logistics sector.

Dues from the private sector has been fully repaid to the ministry, he added during the Saudi Budget Forum 2022 held today, Dec. 13.

The minister also reviewed the key achievements of the transport and logistics sector in 2021, which included activating the National Strategy for Transport and Logistics by launching 92 initiatives and more than 370 projects to boost the Kingdom’s position as a global logistics hub.

Moreover, three local ports were ranked among the 100 largest ports in the world, and four Saudi airports ranked among the top 100 airports in the world and the top 10 airports in the Middle East.

He pointed out that the road fatality rate decreased during this year to 13 cases per 100,000 people, exceeding the target for 2021, which was estimated at 15 cases per 100,000 people.

Al-Jasser also highlighted that more than 1,374 km of roads have been completed between the regions of the Kingdom, through 47 projects.
