Sahara International Petrochemicals Co. (Sipchem) appointed Abdullah Khalifah Al Buainain as an independent board member, effective as of April 25, till the end of the current term on Dec. 9, 2022, according to a bourse filing.
The appointment is pending the approval of the upcoming general assembly meeting, the company added.
Al Buainain has more than 39 years of experience in the petrochemical industry, water desalination and energy production. He also held several leadership positions in Saudi Basic Industries Corp. (SABIC) and MRAFIQ. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals in 1981.
