The General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) announced on July 8 that the total number of pilgrims reached 899,300, including 779,919 pilgrims from outside the Kingdom through various ports. The number of pilgrims from inside reached 119,434 pilgrims, both citizens and residents.
The number of male pilgrims out of the total number of local and foreign pilgrims reached 486,458, while the number of female pilgrims out of the total number of local and foreign pilgrims reached 412,895.
Pilgrims from Arab countries accounted for 21.4% of total Hajj performers, while the pilgrims from Asian countries except for Arab countries constituted 53.8%. The pilgrims from African countries except for Arab countries represented 13.2%, with the pilgrims from Europe, America and Australia constituting 11.6% of total number of pilgrims.
On the other hand, as many as 738,680 pilgrims arrived in Makkah through airports 35,210 pilgrims arrived through land ports, and 6,029 pilgrims through seaports.
