Wafrah for Industry and Development Co. signed, on Aug. 7, a contract valued at EUR 3.97 million (SAR 15.28 million) with GEA Food Solutions to manufacture and supply highly automated lines for processing and packaging frozen and cooked meats.
The contract is valid for nine months from the signing date, Wafrah said in a statement to Tadawul. It covers the supply of highly automated lines for preparation, processing and packaging of different types and pack sizes of nuggets and burgers. The contract also includes the supply of slicing and packaging line for meat and sausages.
This is one step in a series of steps to be carried out by Wafrah to upgrade its meat factory in order to take a leading position in this industry, the company noted.
GEA is a German company that ranks among the biggest and best market players worldwide in manufacturing food lines and plants with the highest standards of quality. The deal aligns with Wafrah’s endeavor to upgrade its plants.
Wafrah concluded that the upgrade of production capacity and increase in revenue is expected to show in the second half of 2023.
