Saudi Arabia’s merchandise imports rose 22% year-on-year (YoY) to SAR 53.9 billion in May 2022, according to data issued by the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT).
Imports for the same month declined YoY by SAR 2.24 billion, or 4%, as shown below:

The increase in the Kingdom’s imports in May was driven by a SAR 2.06 billion rise, or 24%, in "machinery and mechanical appliances; electrical equipment; parts thereof". This is in addition to other sections.
