Saudi Arabia was elected for membership of the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) for 2022-2024, by a majority vote. The election took place on Sept. 29 during the 66th IAEA general conference in Vienna.

The 35-member Board of Governors is one of the two policy-making bodies of the IAEA, along with the annual General Conference of IAEA Member States. It examines and makes recommendations to the General Conference on the Non-Proliferation Treaty, IAEA's financial statements, program and budget.

Saudi Arabia has earlier served on the board of governors from 2019 to 2021.
