In this report, Argaam monitored the performance of 36, out of nearly 256, local equity funds that invest in Saudi equities, and have assets under management (AUMs) of more than SAR 100 million in Q3 2022.
A total of 29 funds showed demonstrated positive performance during the three-month period, while seven funds showed negative performance.
Riyad Opportunities Fund, managed by Riyad Capital, was the top performer with a return of 11.5%. The fund aims to achieve medium- to long-term capital growth through primarily investing in shares of companies listed on Saudi and GCC markets, as well as REITs and ETFs, in addition to cash and debt instruments.
SNB Capital Saudi Small and Mid-Cap Equity Fund, managed by SNB Capital, took the second place, with a positive return of 8.7%. The fund aims to achieve long-term capital growth through investing in shares of Shariah-compliant small and medium-sized enterprises listed on Tadawul.
Alistithmar Capital Freestyle Saudi Equity Fund came third, with a return of 6.2%. The fund, managed by Alistithmar Capital, eyes long-term capital growth through investing in shares of Shariah-compliant companies listed on Tadawul.
