Saudi Arabia records $2.1 bln FDI inflows in Q2 2022

Foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows to Saudi Arabia dropped 85% year-on-year (YoY) to SAR 7.9 billion (or $2.11 billion) in the second quarter of 2022, according to the Ministry of Investment.
 

The ministry ascribed the decline to closing the deal of Saudi Aramco in Q2 2021, which amounted to about SAR 47 billion. Excluding Aramco's deal, FDIs inflows to the Kingdom grew by 45% YoY in and 6.6% quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) in Q2 2022.
 

Nominal gross fixed capital formation reached SAR 248 million, a rise of over 36% YoY.
