Minister of Economy and Planning Faisal Alibrahim
The Ministry of Economy and Planning is keen to realize the sustainable development goals, as it coordinates efforts in the public and private sectors, Minister Faisal Alibrahim said during the Sustainable Partnerships Conference (SPC), held by the Ministry of Education.
The achievement of these goals will enable Saudi Arabia and help it deliver the Vision 2030 objectives.
However, diversifying income sources and increasing production levels are the biggest challenges facing the Kingdom in the long term, Alibrahim explained.
Saudi Arabia seeks to leverage the young age of population by benefiting from its demographics and investing in human capital.
The Kingdom has a good opportunity to benefit from the demographic dividend, as the number of people joining the labor market is higher than those leaving employment, thanks to the young age of population.
Alibrahim explained that the Saudis below 30 years represent nearly 60% of the Kingdom’s population, while those below 25 years account for 41%.
Moreover, access to public benefits and services is very high, which in turn help create more opportunities and jobs in Saudi Arabia, Alibrahim concluded.
