The General Directorate of Public Security, represented by the General Traffic Department, discussed changing the timing for schools and universities and shifting to remote work for some companies and government agencies to address traffic congestion in Riyadh.

During a workshop titled "Traffic Density and Proposed Operational Solutions", Saudi traffic spokesman Mansour Al-Shakrah told Al-Ikhbariya TV that the workshop aims to discuss the challenges of traffic density on the road network in Riyadh.

A number of recommendations are expected to stem from the workshop, in a bid to raise traffic safety and ensure the smooth flow of road traffic.

Several aspects are being studied, the most important of which was building an operational model for ring roads and highways, revisiting the local traffic light control system and supporting the possibility of remote work for some private and government agencies.

This in addition to changing the timing of some schools and universities, besides tapping many other possible solutions in this regard, said the official.
