ACWA Power said it received the commercial operation certificate of its 40.2%-owned Jazlah Water Desalination Co. from Saudi Water Partnership Co. (SWPC), according to a statement to Tadawul.
Located in Jubail, Jazlah Water operates with a capacity of 600,000 cubic meter of potable water per day.
The relevant financial impact will likely appear on Q2 2023 financial results, the statement added.
Jazlah Desalination is SWPC first project in the Eastern region, and features four water tanks.
The project injects around SAR 850 million in the national economy, while enhancing the role of the private sector to develop the local content and help fulfill the goals of Vision 2030.
