Prices of 62 Saudi goods, services decline in March

Prices of 62 goods and services in Saudi Arabia dropped year-on-year (YoY) in March 2023, while prices of 99 out of 169 goods and services rose, data issued by the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) showed.

Out of the 91 food products, yogurt recorded the biggest rise of 33.33% YoY, followed by frozen chicken with a 31.66% increase YoY.

On the other hand, pumpkin and American cardamom saw the steepest decline YoY by 28.21% and 24.02%, respectively.

Meanwhile, prices of 12 construction materials increased YoY in March, while the prices of the remaining 26 materials declined during the same month.

Prices of eight fodder and livestock products increased YoY during the month, while the other three went down in March.

For clothes, nine items saw an increase in prices last month, while the remaining one declined.

The four personal services saw a YoY rise in March.

Prices of three detergents increased last month, while only one product declined.

Elsewhere, two of the three healthcare services went up, and the other one declined.

Similarly, prices of one out of two services under the maintenance and repair of personal means of transportation grew in March YoY.

Prices of the two hotel and furnished apartment services rose on an annual basis in March.

Under tobacco, prices of Marlboro cigarettes remained unchanged per pack YoY.
