Boutique Group is developing three historical palaces to convert them into hotels, CEO Mark DeCocinis told Argaam on the sidelines of the Future Hospitality Summit in Riyadh.
He added that the interior works began in Tuwaiq Palace, the Diplomatic Quarter district, as well as the Red Palace in Riyadh.
The initial construction works are in different stages, the top executive said.
He added that Alhamra Palace in Jeddah spans a large area, and its restoration works already began, expecting all palaces to be opened in 2025.
DeCocinis indicated that there is a palace connected to Alhamra, which will be used for facilities to complement the main palace.
The group focuses on Riyadh and Jeddah as main markets in the first stage and will look for other regions in coordination with the Ministry of Culture to identify palaces and how they can be expanded.
Boutique is working on the development of historical and cultural palaces in the Kingdom, which belong to previous kings. It seeks to convert such palaces into luxury hotels, through a team with great experience focused on culture, history, and details of palaces.
The architecture and building design focus on the exploitation of the interior space, and this takes a long time.
The hotels will be available for accommodation by citizens and tourists, the CEO said, adding that the group is part of the Kingdom's Vision 2030; hence it is working to highlight Saudi hospitality as a new standard for tourism in the world.
