Prices of 64 Saudi goods, services decline in April

Prices of 64 goods and services in Saudi Arabia dropped year-on-year (YoY) in April 2023, while prices of 99 out of 169 goods and services rose, data issued by the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) showed.

Out of the 91 food products, yogurt recorded the biggest rise of 33.33% YoY, followed by frozen chicken with a 20.01% increase YoY.

On the other hand, locally produced and imported tomato saw the steepest decline YoY by 32.59% and 26.92%, respectively.

Meanwhile, prices of eight construction materials increased YoY in April, while the prices of the remaining 30 materials declined during the same month.

Prices of nine fodder and livestock products increased YoY during the month, while the other four went down in April.

For clothes, nine items saw an increase in prices last month, while the remaining one declined.

The four personal services saw a YoY rise in April.

Prices of three detergents increased last month.

Elsewhere, two of the three healthcare services went up, and the other one declined.

Similarly, prices of one out of two services under the maintenance and repair of personal means of transportation grew in April YoY.

Prices of the two hotel and furnished apartment services rose on an annual basis in April.

Under tobacco, prices of Marlboro cigarettes remained unchanged per pack YoY.
