The signing of the agreement
Saudi Arabia’s Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST) signed two memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with Microsoft Corp. and Oracle Corp. to discuss aspects of cooperation and opportunities in cloud computing the Kingdom's Special Economic Zone (SEZ).
Microsoft and Oracle will be acquainted with the privileges and incentives provided in SEZ, the commission said on Twitter, indicating that support will be granted for the two companies in accordance with the applicable rules and regulations.
It further pointed out that the major reflections of this cooperation are the Kingdom's leadership as a regional hub for the digital economy, an increase in the number of entrants from leading international companies in the field, and the creation of quality jobs for Saudi youth.
CST obtained today, May 29, a license for cloud computing and informatics SEZ. This came during the Saudi Special Economic Zones Investment Forum, according to Argaam's data.
