Saudi holdings of US Treasuries down to $108.1 bln in June

Saudi Arabia’s holdings of US Treasuries reached $108.1 billion in June 2023, down $3.2 billion month-on-month, new data released by the US Treasury showed.

Thus, the Kingdom's holdings of US Treasures reached their lowest levels since December 2016, when they amounted to SAR 102.8 billion.

The Kingdom maintained its 18th place among the largest holders of US Treasuries in June.

Saudi Arabia’s holdings of US Treasuries were distributed among long-term bonds worth $99.83 billion, representing 92.3% of the total, and short-term bonds worth $8.29 billion, accounting for 7.7%.

Japan was the top holder of US Treasuries in June, with a value of nearly $1.105 trillion, or 14.6% of total treasuries. China came in second with $835.4 billion, as the following table shows:
