Minister of Education Youssef Al-Benyan said the ministry is adopting the launch of a social fund for its employees, led by male and female teachers.
In a press conference held today, Oct. 4, the minister pointed out that the ministry serves more than 6.5 million public school students of all levels of education.
The private sector will play a complementary role with the government sector, with the aim of boosting productivity, enriching the educational process and enhancing the services rendered, he noted.
Al-Benyan also stressed that the ministry took over 70 new educational buildings and projects. More than 595 educational buildings have been rehabilitated and maintained in various regions of the Kingdom, ahead of the beginning of the new academic year.
The Saudi education sector recorded advanced results in a number of international indices, said the minister, adding that a total of 141 awards have been received during the 1444 Hijri year via several global competitions.
Al-Benyan touched on the ministry’s plan to divide the academic year into three semesters instead of the usual two, underlining that the move is subject to evaluation and study.
In addition, he noted that work is ongoing to boost the effectiveness of the Colleges of Excellence companies in attracting international calibers, for knowledge exchange and supporting the development of graduates.
