US oil inventories rise 10.2 mln barrels last week

US crude oil inventories increased in the week ended Oct. 6, while gasoline inventories and distillate stocks fell during the same period.
Crude oil rose 10.2 million barrels last week, compared to expectations of an increase by 1.3 million barrels, data from the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) showed.
Meanwhile, US gasoline inventories decreased by nearly 1.3 million barrels, and distillate stocks fell 1.8 million barrels.
