Saudi Kayan Petrochemical Co. (Saudi Kayan) estimated the financial impact of fire in the operating unit of the Bisphenol (BPA) plant at approximately SAR 443 million.
This impact was reflected on the Q3 2023 financial results and is expected to continue until the end of H1 2024, according to a statement on Tadawul.
The plant is also operating at 50% production capacity and work is underway to resume the unit’s operation at full capacity by the end of H1 2024, the statement added.
Any updates will be announced later, the company stated.
In September, Saudi Kayan reported a limited fire in one of the operating units of the bisphenol plant, which is used as a raw material for the production of polycarbonate.
