Prices of 71 Saudi goods, services down in February

Prices of 71 goods and services in Saudi Arabia declined year-on-year (YoY) in February out of 169 in total. Meanwhile, prices of 96 others rose, with prices of five commodities unchanged YoY during the same month, official data issued by the Saudi General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) showed.

Out of 92 food products, prices of local round onion rose the most at 168.01% YoY last month, followed by imported round onion with a 120.1% YoY hike.

On the other hand, Indian pomegranate and local green bell peppers saw the YoY steepest declines for the same month at 19.44% and 17.65%, respectively.

Meanwhile, prices of 17 construction materials increased YoY in February, while those of 21 other declined YoY during the same month.

Prices of eight livestock and fodder products rose YoY last month, while five others fell annually.

For clothes, prices of seven items under this category soared YoY for the same month, while those of three others decreased YoY.

Meanwhile, prices of three miscellaneous personal goods and services climbed YoY in February, while one fell YoY.

Additionally, prices of all detergent products increased YoY last month.

Prices of two health services edged up on an annual basis in February, although that of the third service fell YoY.

Elsewhere, prices of two services under the maintenance and repair of personal means of transportation jumped YoY in the same period.

On the other hand, prices of hotel and furnished apartment services rose on an annual basis in February.

Under the tobacco category, the price of Marlboro fell YoY last month.
