West Qassim Airport, Al-Ahsa Airport expansion to kick off tomorrow

The West Qassim Airport project will be inaugurated tomorrow, April 24, on an area estimated at 17.6 million square meters, said Fayez Al-Shuaili, Chairman of the Al-Rass Chamber, Saudi Press Agency reported.

This project is supported by the Emirate of Qassim Province, as represented by the Investment Development Committee and a community initiative from the Al-Rass Chamber, the entity implementing the project. The Saudi Aviation Club will operate and manage the airport.

Al-Shuaili explained that the idea of the airport project was first proposed by the Governor of Qassim in 2019, while the Al-Rass Chamber adopted the project and began construction work in mid-2020.

The airport features several services related to sports aviation, gliding, and parachuting. It will also include a center that is the first of its kind for remote aircraft control. The airport will also provide many services to those interested in and fans of aviation sports of all kinds, including aviation activities, training, entertainment, in addition to showcasing investment opportunities related to the aviation sector, according to Al-Shuaili.

In a related context, Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Eastern Province, will inaugurate tomorrow the expansion and development of Al-Ahsa International Airport.
